It took me a long time to find a character that I will be analyzing for this blog. I think that important decisions need a lot of thinking. But what if we have limited options with limited time? This is what happened with the hero of this blog when she chooses the path of death to give hope to those she loves.
Let me introduce the character to you. It's a fictional character and the protagonist of The Hunger Games written by American author Suzanne Collins in 2008. After four years, the novel was turned into a movie. Jennifer Lawrence starred in the movie as "Katniss Everdeen," our character in this blog. Here's a brief about her.
Katniss lives with her mother and her sister Brim in district 12, the poorest, least populated, and smallest district in Panem. The death of her father affected her mother so badly, and she was severely depressed. That forced Katniss to take on the duties of the head of the family herself while she was 11 years old.
On the annual harvesting day, her younger sister Brim was selected randomly to be a gladiator to the death in the 74th Annual Hunger Games. She will be facing the group of twenty-three other gladiators chosen as the same way for the Hunger Games. Katniss volunteered to replace her sister. Then her journey just began. A journey of fear, pain, despair, hope, challenge, and sacrifice. All of that makes her a symbol of rebellion against the oppressive Capitol.
